As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and/or testing of our post-printing solutions for the Additive Manufacturing market.
As a Development Engineer (Mechanical) you will be called upon to design and implement engineering solutions in support of New Product Development as well as Continuous Improvement on existing products. PostProcess products utilize virtually all aspects of Mechanical Engineering concepts including Fluid Flow, Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, and Material Science. This is a unique opportunity to perform a wide variety of engineering work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Salary range: $75K-$85K with equity in company and bonus potential. Depends on education and experience level.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Design and develop post-printing solutions for the Additive Manufacturing market.
- Conceptualize, Design, Build and test prototype assemblies, subassemblies and machines.
- Validate designs against design inputs to ensure design goals are achieved to ultimately ensure Exceptional Customer Satisfaction.
- Create final Product Specification as well as Factory Acceptance Test Requirements, Performance Specifications and all operating requirements.
- Work in close conjunction with the Operations Team and our assembly partners to ensure a high-quality product is delivered on-time, on-spec, and on-budget.
- Team with Application Engineering, Sales Engineering and Field Engineering to troubleshoot customer related issues, and implement Continuous
- Improvement Efforts as needed to maintain our competitive leadership in the market.
- Consistently gather market feedback from our customer-facing team members and utilize these learnings to continuously improve our offerings and ensure “exceptional” customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Team closely with your manager to develop and meet Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that are laser aligned with the company’s OKRs.
- Consistently deliver projects on-time, on-budget and of high quality that aligns with the OKRs.
- Help implement the necessary technical processes to ensure we’re building the foundation to scale the company to $100m+ in the next five years.
- Communicate clearly, candidly and constantly with engineering teammates along with other departments throughout PostProcess and with strategic suppliers.
- Serve as the Team Lead on assigned projects ensuring that project goals are achieved on schedule and within budget.

Skills and Qualifications
- Possesses a strong interest in cutting edge technology and has the ability to identify, evaluate and deploy new technologies to meet the growing needs of customers and ensure we maintain market leadership.

- Demonstrated technical savvy and prowess in product innovation and design having applied engineering fundamentals from concept through product design to product realization.
- Strong SolidWorks Design Skills
- Exceptional analytical and computational skills
- Experience designing industrial electrical systems
- Experience creating electrical schematics
- Experience reading and reviewing electrical schematics
- System process knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative team player approach.
- Extremely well organized and excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally; strong written and verbal skills are essential.
- Must have solid computer skills, especially in Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environment including a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Ability to make decisions with limited data and be willing to fail fast.
- Technical writing skills a plus.
- Familiar with the fundamentals of and the ability to comply with the requirements of Standard Design Control practices.
Education and Experience
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; M.S. degree in M.E. a plus.
2 + years of past working experience in the relevant engineering or technical field.
- Experience utilizing Solidworks to design, modeling and simulation of complex systems.
- Machine design, dimensioning, tolerancing, sheet metal, machining, welding and fabrication experience.
- Familiarity with piping systems and pump sizing.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience in an ISO certified organization is a plus.
- Experience working with contract manufacturing partners.
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience in an early-stage company is beneficial.
